Carlisle EPDM rubber membrane is a high-strength elastic waterproofing material that has proven itself in practice in construction and has confirmed its quality characteristics for decades.
The material is used in the construction and waterproofing of the following facilities:

Due to the rubber content, EPDM waterproof membranes have excellent plasticity and tensile strength. But the list of their useful properties does not end there.
Sustainability and environmental protection are two of the top priorities in the modern construction industry. Using building materials with a long expected lifespan is one of the best ways to achieve long-term results.
When it comes to long service life, EPDM waterproofing membrane is second to none.
EPDM roofs have the lowest global warming, smog and acid rain potential of other widely used roofing systems, and at the end of their service life, the EPDM butyl rubber film is recyclable.
Over 50 years of real-world experience using the Carlisle roofing system worldwide have proven that EPDM membranes are a reliable waterproofing option for almost any construction project.

Interesting fact
Recycled EPDM is being returned to production; current EPDM formulations contain up to 5% recycled material
Carlisle EPDM has proven performance and the best weather resistance of any membrane, with a total radiation of 41,580 kJ/m² without cracks or tears. Also, its excellent resistance to hail damage, confirmed by numerous studies, is becoming increasingly relevant due to climate change in our region.
The Carlisle EPDM membrane provides additional protection against premature wear of the roofing system caused by condensation. However, even after the specified service life, the waterproofing film is easily repaired and saves you the cost of a new coating.
Important to know
A dark-colored EPDM membrane is a smart choice because it reduces heating costs, which are typically 3-5 times higher than air cooling costs, and also:
Domestic construction companies often still prefer PVC roofing membranes, justifying their choice by the lower price of the material and other, at first glance, generally recognized advantages.
However, is this really beneficial in the long run?

The PVC membrane consists of two layers and only the top layer contains additives to reduce the negative effects of ultraviolet radiation. For example, for a 1.2 mm membrane, the thickness of the protective layer does not exceed 0.5 mm, which is approximately 40-45% of the total thickness of the membrane. While the EPDM membrane is completely homogeneous, it can be laid with any side up. It is absolutely resistant to ultraviolet radiation due to the properties of the polymer (ethylene-propylene-diene monomer) and is completely protected from the negative effects of sunlight throughout its entire thickness.
Thus, the PVC membrane has a shorter service life, because under the influence of solar radiation, plasticizers evaporate from the top layer of PVC*, and the membrane gradually loses its properties, releasing harmful substances into the atmosphere, while the EPDM membrane is a completely environmentally friendly product.

*Emission of harmful impurities into the atmosphere from the surface of PVC membranes - the process of evaporation of plasticizers from the molecular structure of PVC into the environment under the influence of solar radiation, with the loss of the PVC membrane of its operational properties).
When PVC and EPDM membranes are considered among the possible waterproofing options, the price of the final result must also take into account the costs of laying the material.
Installation of EPDM during waterproofing works can be carried out by gluing the sheet around the perimeter, completely gluing it to the base, or mechanically.
The Carlisle EPDM roofing system can be attached using cold welding, without fire, heat or any special tools, unlike bitumen or PVC materials.

The EPDM roofing membrane is complemented by a range of accessories that not only provide the perfect solution for corners, gutters, joints, perimeters, protrusions, but also guarantee excellent performance in all works or structures.
EPDM membrane is the optimal solution for installation in various weather conditions, without the need for additional coating or protective materials.
Due to its flexibility and durability, this type of waterproofing for the home is suitable for all types of climates, withstanding high temperature ranges.
A big advantage of a rubber membrane over a bitumen sheet or any plastic product is that it does not require any special care.
