Luigi Bormioli (Italy) was founded by engineer Luigi Bormioli in 1946 and initially specialized in the production of glass for the perfume industry. In the early 70s, the company's engineering and technical staff created a revolutionary technology that allowed the industrial production of glasses, wine glasses and goblets of such quality that could previously only be achieved by hand. Thanks to this, a new segment of the table glass market appeared - high-quality products with an exquisite design. The Supremo series was developed by Luigi Bormioli designers in collaboration with the Centro Studi Assaggiatori. All products are made of SON.hyx crystal glass, obtained by blow molding. Using a new process, they become lighter and thinner, while maintaining strength. The shapes of the products are innovative and elegant at the same time, and have a unique sensory perception of the aromas of wine during the disclosure of their bouquet in the glass while reducing the alcoholic element. Thus, the aromas and flavors of the wine are pleasantly revealed in the glass. The smooth transition between the conical and convex shape avoids the destruction of aromatic molecules during the swirling of the wine. The convex surface ensures a high degree of oxidation of the wine on the surface with a low level of oxidation below, preserving the most delicate aromas and contributing to their pleasant disclosure. The epicure - a recess at the base of the glass - conveys a true reflection of the color of the wine.
