Method of using bituminous mastic for gluing roofing material

Floor preparation

Before applying bituminous mastic to concrete and plaster, it is necessary to complete the cement hardening process. The floor must not be frozen, icy or contain stagnant water.

It is necessary to remove free elements, sharp edges, dirt and dust, as well as metal corrosion parts. Cavities and uneven surfaces are leveled with cement putty.

Concrete floors that strongly absorb moisture and are exposed to significant water pressure must be primed with ABIZOLEM R (do not use water-based soils) and wait for complete drying.

In the case of old covered papules, it is necessary to remove free fragments of papules, bubbles and protrusions. Then cut them crosswise and glue them with ABIZOL KL-DM. ABIZOL G putty is used to level the surface.

Application

Bituminous mastic should be applied cold. It can be applied with a roofing brush, spatula or spatula. Successive layers are applied after the layer has completely dried.

For gluing bitumen papyrus to the floor and between them, glue should be evenly applied to the width of the papyrus. Wait 15-20 minutes, unfold the pap and press it well to the glue.

To perform seamless waterproof coatings, after proper drying of the priming solution, it is necessary to apply 2-3 layers of glue in the amount of 0.6-1.0 kg/m² per each layer. Each subsequent layer is applied perpendicular to the previous one to avoid breaks in the waterproof layer. The total consumption of glue is from 1.2 to 3.0 kg/m². The thickness of the layers is controlled by material consumption.

Restriction of use

Storage and packaging

Store in originally packed containers in a cool and dry place. Can be stored at low temperatures. Protect from direct sunlight. The shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture indicated on the package.
