An unreinforced membrane is suitable for performing complex assemblies, connections, and manufacturing through-hole elements.
PVC membrane Bauder THERMOFOL is used for waterproofing flat roofs with increased requirements for waterproofing coating. The thickness of the Bauder THERMOFOL M18 membrane is 1.8 mm. This thickness is sufficient to guarantee reliable waterproofing for a flat roof with or without insulation. PVC membranes Bauder THERMOFOL meet modern requirements and standards and can be used both in capital construction and for the reconstruction of existing roofs. When reconstructing roofs made of bitumen materials, it is necessary to provide a separating layer of thermoset geotextile or fiberglass between the bitumen membrane and PVC.
The PVC membrane is attached to the roof base mechanically. To fix the membrane, a special fastener is used for insulation and PVC membrane on a flat roof. When attaching to a concrete base without insulation, a concrete screw and a metal clamping washer are used, when attaching to a base made of profiled sheet - a self-drilling screw and a metal clamping washer. If the roof is insulated and the membrane is laid directly on the insulation - then an appropriate screw plus a telescopic roofing dowel are used.
Bauder THERMOFOL M membrane is not recommended for use in ballasted and inverted roofs. Bauder THERMOFOL U with additives for protection against microorganisms and plant root germination is better suited for ballasted and inverted roofs.
PVC membrane has a number of advantages compared to bitumen waterproofing:
